Let There Be Sound
Finally got some sound on my computer. I had to disable the onboard sound and install my old soundcard. Works quite nicely and I feel almost complete. Feeling much better anyway.
First music to crank up? Scorpions. They've put out some brilliant stuff over the years. Yu-Jin likes them too. He's a good boy.
Question
How on earth does deodorant manage to maintain a temperature at least 10 degrees below room temperature? Applying it is one of the most masochistic things you can do in the early morning. Wakes you up better than a cup of tea does.

So glad you have sound. I knew you would work it out eventually!
The deodorant is kept in the bathroom and that gets pretty cold overnight. It's application sure is a shock to the system.
There are substitutes for deodorant: e.g. soap (and shower), Eau de Cologne.
Strangely enough I do employ the old tactic of soap and shower as well.
Eau du cologne is just another smell. Next you'll be telling me to use toilet water.
No Hammy, your supposed to drink the toilet water.
Is that a NY habit, drinking toilet water. Not something we do in this country. Dogs, yes. Humans, not too often.
