It appears that the reigning champions of Hide-And-Seek are all Austrians with the latest revelation that an Austrian man hid his daughter, so that he could continue sexually abusing her, for 24 years. Obviously a new champion of this sport has emerged after beating the eight years set recently by Natasha Kampusch's captor, Wolfgang Priklopil, who managed to hide her away after abducting her. In another recent game a mentally ill women kept her three daughters locked away for seven years. Not really a contender methinks.
I think that someone needs to explain the rules of hide-and-seek to the Austrian population as a whole.

I read about this in the paper this morning. How tragic.
The news are full of it over here. Plain sick and awful. The poor daughter. I can´t believe no one realized what was going on.
What a sick sick man and the poor kids they produced too. The article said it had been going on since she was 11 years old. How did the mother not know??? She even gave birth in the basement!!! What a sick demented family.
The father/grandfather is one sorry, perverted man. And the fact that he's facing only 15 years behind bars when he had them locked away for a total of 66 years (including the three kids who had never seen sunlight) is a blight on the justice system.
This is the largest news story of the year for obvious reasons. A psychiatric hospital certainly isn't good enough for him and not fair on the children he has raised as an adoptive father. Everybody gets hurt because of this man. I'm shocked that it could happen.
Watch out for people who have cellars.
Hard to find houses with no cellar over here, though...
