Yu-Jin Passed His 6th Gup Grading

Yu-Jin had taekwondo grading today to move up to blue belt. And he was successful. Mind you, he did forget the movements in Taeguk 3 for about 10-15 seconds and just stood there until he remembered. I videoed the whole grading, which goes for some 24 minutes and 150MB but, as he was close to the front, he disappeared several times behind the examiners' table. Plus he was too far away. When I downloaded the video to my computer all that came up was a white screen. I don't know what is going on but if I convert the .mov file to a .wmv then the picture shows up properly. Thank goodness for that.

Spring Must Be Here

Managed to get a photo of a butterfly yesterday. I'm assuming that it was just after emerging from its chrysalis as it was warming itself in the sun.

New butterfly.

Must be new and warming itself in the sun to allow me to get this close.

Congratulations, Yu-Jin! Well done. I think the butterflt is a Monarch.

Dave, you're spot on with your spelling. He had to do taeguk 3 and 4 patterns for the grading. Little bit later and he'll be doing taeguk 5 and 6. Now he needs to knuckle down a bit.

The flowering plant the butterfly is resting on, is Geraldton Wax, in case you are interested.
