It's A Good Thing That Jennifer Heil Finished Second

Watched a bit of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics last night which included the women's moguls. Favourite for the event was Jennifer Heil from Canada and the Canadians had their hopes pinned on her to become the first Canadian to win gold on home soil. Seeing as this is Canada's third Winter Olympics, after Montreal and Calgary, you can understand how hopeful they are.

Heil was in first place with one competitor to go - Hannah Kearney of the US. Kearney skiied quite brilliantly and deserved the gold. Unlucky for Canada. But can you imagine the headline in Germany if she had won? It would have been something like "Sieg Heil" and that's an old line from an old regime. Probably a good thing that she finished second.
